Performance Plus Massage was founded in 1995 in a small clinic in Toowong, Brisbane. At the time my clients were competitive bike riders, hence the name. Over time weight lifters at national level, members of the university teams at international and university level, and a national basketball team were regular clients. Since then people from all walks of life come for treatments.
I moved to Perth in 2013 and worked part-time in Cloverdale, Ascot and Kalamunda. In March 2017 commenced full time as an acupuncturist and remedial massage therapist at 252 Fulham St, Cloverdale 6105.
Remedial Massage is effective for pain relief, increasing mobility and flexibility. Treatments are for neck and shoulders, lower back pain and sciatica. I also treat specific muscle groups, joint pain in the shoulders, neck, knees, elbows and wrists. Remedial massage and/or acupuncture work extremely well for headaches and migraines.
Acupuncture treatments aim to deliver maximum effectiveness and comfort. This is achieved by various needling techniques
together with the smoothest needles on the market.
The needles I use are safe and hygienic. They are bought in Australia to Australian Standards from reputable suppliers. Each needle is solid surgical stainless steel, individually wrapped and sterilised with non-pyrogenic Ethylene Oxide Gas (EOG). Each needle is used once only, then placed into a specialised sharps container and disposed of by furnace.
I have tried most needle brands on the market in Australia and have found a few exceptional smooth ones. For dry-needling and general use, I use Cloud & Dragon (Chinese), for sensitive work I use Asiamed (Japanese) and for facial cosmetic work I use DongBang (Korean).
Cupping is done using plastic cups and a suction pump as a safer alternative to glass cupping using a naked flame. An example of cupping is shown to the side.
Moxabustion involves the application of heat to acupuncture points on the body to improve the blood flow. It is especially effective in the treatment of frozen shoulder and other conditions from cold weather and poor circulation.
